I loved Artoo Detoo’s Activity Book when it came out in 1979. It was the only one from the series that I had as a kid, but have picked some up since – the other three were the activity books of Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader, and Chewbacca. The contents were pretty lightweight and simple, but I read it over and over, tracing the line-art and making the DIY projects contained within its pages. The Robot Riddles page was most definitely targeting the younger readers – “Why did the robot grease his joints just before going to bed? …he wanted to get up oily in the morning”.
