To celebrate the animated series Star Wars Rebels, fans have designated today, 5th March, as #RebelsRemembered Day, in honor of the day the last episode aired in 2018. To celebrate #RebelsRemembered I’m taking a look at the Star Wars Rebels content in a game I play daily – Star Wars Galaxy Of Heroes.

Star Wars Galaxy Of Heroes (SWGOH) is an app game where you can collect Star Wars characters and and battle them against in-game challenges and also other players. As as long time SWGOH player (since the game launched in late 2015), I was so excited to see the entire Phoenix Squadron join the game in 2017 –

• Hera Syndulla – added 9th March 2017
• Chopper – added 9th March 2017
• Kanan Jarrus – added 16th March 2017
• Garazeb “Zeb” Orrelios – added 23rd March 2017
• Ezra Bridger – added 30th March 2017
• Sabine Wren – added 6th April 2017
• Ahsoka Tano (Fulcrum) – added 2nd June 2017
• Grand Admiral Thrawn – added 15th June 2017

While my Rebels line-up are not the highest geared characters in my roster, I do still use them often. Fulcrum Ahsoka works well in Rebel-themed teams, and Grand Admiral Thrawn is an absolutely must-have character, a powerful addition to Empire teams. With the new game emphasis on Grand Arena, I definitely need to gear this team up so I’ve got them at the ready – fingers crossed for a new omega ability for one of them, Hera maybe?

A great in-game event is the Artist Of War legendary event, where you use the Phoenix squad characters to defeat and then unlock Grand Admiral Thrawn. I remember how hard this was back when it launched in 2017! It took careful strategy to beat him, which was only fitting of course.

As well as characters from Rebels, SWGOH also has some ships too! The Ghost and Phantom II are available in-game, as well as Thrawn’s flagship Chimaera. The Phantom II is in my current main ship team, and Chimaera is great for the fleet section in Territory War.

I’m slowly but surely working towards unlocking the unique event characters in Star Wars Galaxy Of Heroes. As a free-to-play player, I usually can’t get my squads ready in time for the first time launch of legendary-style events, but I work as hard as I can to get geared up for the second round.

This week, the C-3PO event returned, and I was keen to get him this time!

The C-3PO event requires a well-geared ewok team, and I have been working on mine as much as I could, but my Old Republic characters have been taking a lot of my focus. Now that I have Darth Malak, it was time to start concentrating on my ewok team in preparation for C-3PO.

After unlocking Padme’ Amidala a few weeks ago, I was eager to unlock C-3PO the next time his event returned – they have great Galactic Republic synergy, and of course I really want to build a good Padme’-lead squad.

I had been working on gearing up my ewok team, and even had a few zetas saved up just in case – which I used, but it totally paid off! Touched up my mod arrangements, and set off to see how many levels of the event I could beat.

It worked! I easily beat the fifth level, which was enough to unlock C-3PO. I quite like the events that let you unlock the character at five stars, rather that having to beat the full seven levels to unlock. It gives me time to work on mods and gearing until I can get them to seven stars – especially with the ‘new’ gear that characters like Darth Malak and Darth Revan need that take a while to farm.

It’s always exciting unlocking a new character, and even more so for the harder-to-earn toons like C-3PO. SWGOH is one daily habit I can’t break – I’m a Star Wars collector, and that passion extends to digital collecting too.

Look at all those abilities! I really need to start testing him out and learning the best strategies for his unique support/non-attack abilities. And mods, and gear – I do genuinely enjoy the process and strategy.

After beating the fifth level, I was curious to see how much harder the next level . To my surprise, with a little bit of strategy, I beat it with my full ewok squad still standing to win with three stars – on my first try!

I knew I would be pushing my luck, but I gave the seventh level battle a try. Sure enough, my ewoks are not ready to survive that, so I’ll continue to work on their gear. I don’t mind, I genuinely want to have a well-geared ewok squad for guild events and Grand Arena.

I finally have C-3PO alongside my trusty R2-D2 in SWGOH – I can’t wait to gear him up and start trying out new group synergies! I started farming Hermit Yoda the instant he came out, so I know I really enjoy the purely supportive/non-attack characters – C-3PO will be fun!

It’s an exciting day for this Star Wars Galaxy Of Heroes player – I unlocked Darth Malak! I’ve been a fan of Darth Malak ever since my first play-through of Knights Of The Old Republic – so it’s great to finally add him to my SWGOH roster.

The first time the Darth Malak event launched was when I was overseas at Star Wars Celebration Chicago – but since I didn’t have Darth Revan unlocked at that time, I couldn’t particpate in the event anyway. I worked hard to get Darth Revan and my Old Republic characters unlocked and as geared as I could manage to be ready when the Darth Malak event returned – and I was!

The Darth Malak ‘Star Forge Showdown’ event was split into two battles – Light Side with a Jedi Revan team, and Dark Side with a Darth Revan team. I had read that the Dark Side event was easier, so I started there. Took a couple of tries, but I got the hang of it and beat that half.

Then, onto the Light Side…. which was as hard as I had read about. I started to loose track of the number of times I tried to beat the Light Side event, sigh. I was starting to lose hope. I took a break, watched a lot of Youtube guides, and did a whole lot of mod swapping – and it worked! Yes!

I didn’t get three stars on either the Light or Dark Side battles (managed 2 stars, lost a team member in both battles), but who cares – I finally unlocked Darth Malak! I think I even got up and did a little victory dance….

It would have been awesome if he unlocked at a full seven stars, but I don’t mind too much – I just wish I had realised that earlier so I could hoard my guild events currency. At least this way I never have to beat this event ever again – phew!

This was a stressful event, but ultimately really rewarding – I felt so proud of myself for beating this event with strategy and persistence. It will take a while to gear him up alongside Darth Revan and Padme’ Amidala – but I’m looking forward to getting him ready for my Dark Side team.

I play Star Wars Galaxy Of Heroes daily, and enjoy collecting all my favourite characters in the game and building up my squads. In particular, I love to collect the female Star Wars characters like Rey and Princess Leia – and now I finally have Padme’ Amidala too!

Padme’ Amidala was only just recently added to the game, as part of the recent focus on Prequel and Clone Wars characters. Her unlock event requires a well geared Separatist squad to beat – which I was nowhere close to having ready when her event first launched. Fast forward a few months, and finally her event has returned for a second time.

I wasn’t sure if my Separatist toons were geared enough to beat the event – but after a bit of trial and error with different team members, I finally beat the fifth level of the event – which is the minimum required to unlock her!

Now to get back to work gearing my Separatist toons so I’m ready to beat the harder levels when the event returns – I want to get Padme’ geared up and ready to join my high level squads.

I’ll have to wait for the event to return in order to try and beat the 6th and 7th levels to get Padme’ to 7 stars/maximum level, but in the mean time having her unlocked means I can start working on her gear. I already have a reasonable Galactic Republic squad, so I’m happy to finally have Padme’ Amidala to lead them into battle!

It’s an exciting day for this SWGOH player – I finally unlocked Darth Revan! I’ve been playing Star Wars Galaxy Of Heroes since launch, and play everyday – it’s my favourite iPad game. Some might say I play it too much…

As a big fan of Knights Of The Old Republic, I was so excited when it was announced that classic KOTOR characters were being added to SWGOH – I collected them all, and geared them up as fast as I could.

While I didn’t have all my characters to max level in time for the first Darth Revan event, I knew I’d be ready when the event returned – which was yesterday! As soon as the event went live, I jumped in – ready to finally finish and unlock Darth Revan!

I had managed to get about half way during the first event, but it was so exciting to be able to take my full level characters and try the harder levels – this droid fight in particular took a bit of strategy to win.

I loved seeing classic scenes and locations from KOTOR in SWGOH – I love visiting Rakata Prime in SWTOR, so it’s fun to see it here in SWGOH as well. So many of my favourite KOTOR characters all together!

Success! Finished the final Darth Revan fight, and completed the achievement, and got the last shards I needed to unlock Darth Revan at max level/seven stars. That was a great feeling – now to focus on getting Revan geared up as fast as I can to get him into my Sith Empire squad.

Now I have both Jedi Revan and Darth Revan – next up is Darth Malak! I hope the event launches soon. I’ll be working on gearing all my characters as much as I can in preparation. Can’t wait!
